Mountain Pits
Many pits and chasms run through the World Mountains and beneath the earth. Some are natural veins of nature, carved by time and water. Others dug by humans, hungry and reaching for the treasures of the land. Then there are the pits. Round, sharp-edged chasms, burrows of an ancient and gigantic species who lived beneath the mountains during the time of giants. They carved halls out of the rock and deep pits for nests.
The creatures disappeared before the arrival of mankind, their nests left to rot and decay. Well, probably, anyway. Then again, there had to be some reason for the frequent tremors, rockfalls and avalanches.
