World under revision! This world was originally written purely as a Dugeons and Dragons® setting. It is (slowly) being rewritten to be system agnostic When things don't seem to work togewther, this is likely why.

Abyssals

With the sheer number of entities living in the Abyss, it's hard to define a culture common to everyone.

The environment consists of things that are either aggressive or feed on aggression and fear. The only ways to control that environment is to have enough force of will to make it obey or subjugate enough others to maintain control. Ideally a bit of both. What cultural traits are true for everyone who has spent enough time there stem from this.

Abyssals believe that power is the end-all and be-all of life. Those with power are doing life better than those without. Not only is everyone preoccupied with the idea, but the notion of not being so is looked at with suspicion.

The Harmony Problem

If the word "harmony" sounds pleasant, imagine being glass shattered by a sound. To the beings of the abyss, this is what Ailion and its adjacent planes are. Their very existance creates ruptures and might painfully drain magical energies from seemingly random targets. The question isn't if the Harmony needs tp be dealt with, it's a matter of what exactly to do.

Corruptors

The problem with the Harmony isn't that it exists — it's that it needs retuning. Corruptors believe that if enough individuals on the other planes have the same understanding of Power as the ultimate goal as abyssals, Harmony would cease to be a problem as everything would meld into the Abyss. They'll manipulate mortals into following their selfish cravings and desires. They might even hand over some power to a mortal with the potential to change the life of many others in a desired direction. Corruptors have perfected contracts that will bind two souls who sign willingly, so that a mortal's souls will go to the abyssal's location after death and be bound in service.

As with any group of power hungry manipulators, the worst threats for any group of Corruptors are other Corruptors. Everyone is out to gain power over everyone. The only thing stopping someone from stepping in are the many rigid heirarchies enforced by magically binding contracts.

Destroyers

To the destroyers, it's all simple. The Harmony must be pulled apart at its core. Some argue that killing all life on those planes might be enough, others argue that the focus should be the remaining gods, and still others want every bit ripped apart. There's little reason for any of these sub-priorities to act against each other since destroying one thing will likely make it easier to destroy the rest. The factions who are destroyers oppose each other more based on how what what they destroy. Melting the world into lava will make it harder to have it broken down by fungal spores, after all.

Tyrannts

The problem isn't that the Harmony exists — it's that it's not under the heel of an abyssal who can make it obey principlles that align with the abyss. It might be helpful to use mortal dupes since bringing in an abyssal army hasn't been viable since the Dawn War. Those holding on to the tyranny beliefs are the ones most likely to have grand designs against the Harmony since they can't win in small increments.
