Lossum

Lossum is a fertile planet consisting of three continents with wide plains surrounded by shallow seas. The temperatures are mild across most of the planet with the occasional harsh winter. The few mountain ranges offer a variety of mineral wealth making Lossum a perfect planet for colonization.   Lossum was colonized 200 years ago by one of the first cryoships to leave Earth. No additional ships have arrived from Earth in that time, leaving the colony to develop on its own. Roughly 100,000 people live on Lossum scattered across many smaller communities. Most communities are dedicated to farming, but a few focus on producing other needed resources and production.   The people are well fed and live relatively comfortable. However, there are only a limited number of high tech devices available and production of resources is slow due to the limited skilled labor supply. Most people enjoy their slower paced lifestyles and relatively few people are dedicated enough to endure the decades of study required to understand the higher technologies. This has led to a chronic shortage of many of the more advanced electronic devices.
