nedan ranan/trenueglio/enouelīo
This is a type of crystal gem that is mined in the mountain mountains. It is a bright blue colour and very light; this makes it ideal for jewelry. It is known for its healing powers, and wealthy people are prepared to pay a lot for a small amount. In Nulmagio they have a tradition to give their child earrings of trenueglio to ward off sickness. Of course, not everyone can afford it; people who are less well-off buy one earring for all of their children to share.
Etymology
In Uimben nudomba it is called nedan ranan because of its blue colour; nedan means "blue". However, in Vermegia, where most of the crystal is mined, it is called trenueglio which in Scolos means "healing". The name comes from the fact that the crystal is believed to have healing powers. No one knows if this is true, but you certainly feel better when touching it. In Kāhinu and Wohoʻī where they speak Hāu, it is called enouelīo, which means nothing at all, but sounds similar to the Scolosian word. They most likely mimicked the Vermegian word for it.
