Vagn Slagter

Backstory

Barbarian by nature, hothead known for bravery and winning fights against multiple foes when drinking and revelry get out of hand. While Vagn is kind to most people, those who offend his honor or social decency will earn his wrath. His joyous spirit and ease with people makes him well known to the people of the village, but more than one fellow has insinuated his charm is unwelcome around his wife or sister and walked away with a bloody nose for it.

Appearance

Tall and muscular, with a square jaw and broad grin. Vagn keeps his simple clothes and apron neat, and his long tawny hair tied back when working, but boisterously lets loose when it's time to relax. He has the look of someone who could cleave a calf in half with one swipe of a cleaver, and a charming grin that lets you know it will be no bother to do another.

Motivation

Vagn is the son of the butcher Franklin Kostas of Frent, and eldest child with three younger sisters, a toddler brother, and nieces and nephews on the way. He is passionately loyal to his family and community, including Lord Frent who he admires greatly as a generous and kind patron. Vagn has yet to build a family of his own because his heart has been captured by Lord Frent's youngest daughter Sigrid, and he wishes to earn permission to court the young lady. His is well known in the community, but he fears his reputation is not one respectable enough for the lords honor to allow Vagn to court his daughter.
