The Tikk'ykezki are a civilization of various species that have been genetically modified, or uplifted, to match the same pattern. They are considered to be one group comprised of multiple species; the archanid Tikk'Khana; the serpentid Tikk'Yuukat; and the arthropodic Tikk'Hizka. The species has achieved unification, with the Tikk'ykezki Union serving as the primary government that handles internal and external affairs relating to their civilization.
They are locked in a bitter and stagnant rivalry with the Qip'oni. This began around 1000 years ago, following their respective first contact, and broke out into the Jiqu'sika War.The Jiqu'sika War ended in stalemate with both species becoming further entrenched in their beliefs.
First encountered by human explorers in the early 23rd Century.
Tijh'Khana
Commonly referred to simply as the Khana, they are an arachnidan species. With eight legs, and a large opisthosoma, or lower body, which contains much of their vital organs. They have a vaguely humanoid upper body, raised up, with four arms, and a single large head containing five eyes. The Khana were the first of their homeworld to achieve sapience, with a significant head start over the Yuukat and the Hizka. Their species has undergone significant biological modification, with a wide variety of appearances. The Khana are capable of learning and speaking human languages without modification to their vocal chords, though their voices have been described as chittery and slightly unnerving.
Tikk'Yuukat
The Yuukat are a race of serpentid-like aliens, with a humanoid upper body and large snake-like lower body. The Yuukat are a peaceful and diplomatic people, with significant holdings throughout the Union. They have two arms, each with retracted blades for use in self defense. They have a buglike head, with compound eyes and mandibles. The species as a whole underwent uplifting by the Khana, and have significant biological modification granting them comparability with the Khana and the Hizka. They are capable of speaking human languages with modifications, and many opt to undergo the proceedure with no hesitation. They come in many different physical appearances, a result of their longstanding affinity for genetic modification.
Tikk'Hizka
The Hizka are an arthropodic race, and the least humanoid of the races within the a Union. They have been described as bug-like, with a large exoskeleton on their back, walking on at least twenty legs, some of which double as nimble and dexterous hands when a Hizka stands upright. With six eyes and two mouthes, the average Hizka is an intimidating sight, averaging around twelve foot. For the most part, the Hizka dwell underground, constructing elaborate hives and tunnel systems. In their ancient past, the Hizka were a hive mind species led by a Queen. Their uplifting severed this connection and changed them profoundly as a species. The Hizka are largely uniform as a species. However, every so often, a powerful female queen Hizka is born. They exhibit unconscious and unintentional influence over regular Hizka. Many of them are forced out of Hizka society because of this, as their rebirth into a profoundly individualistic society has left many scars.
