Gravity Lance

Gravity Lance is a devastating Short Range Weapons [SRW] archeotech that works in a way that completely transcends current understanding of physics. It works similarly to Energy Weapons on its most basic level, meaning it fires a 'ray' and doesn't need ammunition (but eats a lot of energy).   Gravity Lance ray is actually more or less harmless... until it connects with some sort of solid matter. When that happens, a small singularity is created. In short - a black hole-like object. That makes this 'ray' more than capable of slicing through practically EVERYTHING. Including a battleship with its hull, armor and shields intact, that can be completely sliced apart within a second or two.   Thankfully, all discovered Gravity Lances possessed some sort of safety that causes them to violently disintegrate when an attempt is made to use them against stellar objects (like planets).   Gravity Lances also have almost indefinite range. The problem is that the longer the ray is before connecting and causing singularity, the more power it requires. Which practically limits its usage to SRW-range of 200 000 kilometres. Beyond it a milisecond miss would deplete reactor of a dreadnought,.
