Zalfari

Zalfari is a small town located in the south-west of Locus, nestled in the middle of a mesa. It is relatively isolated from the rest of Locus, with the only connection to the outside world being a single 30-mile dirt road that leads to Port Wavemeet, an Empire-controlled dock to the west of Zalfari.   Despite its isolation, the town is known for a rare flower that only grows in the recently flooded riverbeds in the mesa near Zalfari called "Flood Weed". When consumed, the flower grants the user the ability to breathe underwater for up to 3 days. This has led to Zalfari's economy mainly based on the farming and trading of Flood Weed.   Due to its isolation, Zalfari's culture is rich, with deep roots in tradition and history. However, the town is technologically stunted, with most of the population relying on simple tools and manual labor. Despite this, the people of Zalfari are fiercely independent and proud of their unique culture. They also have strong religious beliefs in the power of the Flood Weed.   The town is also known to have a strong sense of community and unity, with most of the population living in close proximity to one another and relying on each other for support and resources. This, coupled with the abundance of Flood Weed, has led to a strong sense of self-sufficiency among the people of Zalfari.
