Ernst is the kind of man who fills a room with his presence, quick with a hearty laugh and an open, welcoming smile. Though he’s social and approachable, he knows when to quiet down and focus on the job, especially if there’s a sense of risk or responsibility involved. Ernst makes casual small talk with the passengers, sharing amusing stories from his years on the road and always ready to raise a toast when they reach a roadside inn. His loyalty to the Able Carter coachhouse is steadfast; he’s not one to jeopardize his job, even for a good story.  

Personality

Warm and gregarious, Ernst is a natural conversationalist and enjoys making connections, particularly with fellow travelers who enjoy the same stops he does. He takes pride in his work but values camaraderie above all else. His cautious approach on duty reveals a responsible side, a strong contrast to his typically easygoing demeanor. Though he loves a good drink, he never lets it interfere with his work, making sure he’s always clear-headed before getting back on the road.

Ernst works hard to maintain a good reputation with the Able Carter coachhouse, priding himself on being reliable. At the same time, he’s driven by a simple love for people and stories, seeking to make every journey memorable and enjoyable for both himself and his passengers.  

Background

Ernst grew up along the Selintan River valley, where he developed a love for the open road and the tales of travelers passing through. After working odd jobs along the river, he eventually found himself at the Able Carter coachhouse, where his skills as a teamster and his friendly nature quickly secured him a place. Now, he’s known along the route not just for his efficiency and reliability but also for his hearty laugh and love of a good drink.
