Chernfen (Savage Giants)
"When the Wound opened, all manner of evil beings emerged. Some of these beings took pleasure in corrupting creation, whether it was the various worlds or mortal-kind. The Nepholiph were one of many to be subjected to their whims and the Chernfen are the result of that." - Jerrad Umiah on the origin of the Chernfen
Basic Information
Anatomy
Chernfen greatly resemble their 'cousins', the Nepholiph (Giants). Only, the Chernfen or 'savage giants', have been corrupted and twisted into servants of the Qöra'lok San'hora:sum or "the pus from the Wound". Their bodies have been greatly deformed, often possessing extra appendages, heads or eyes in places they shouldn't be.
Ecology and Habitats
Chernfen prefer to make their homes in large, cavernous spaces, well out of the way of large settlements. If no such location is available, they build their own shelters from any material available.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Chernfen like to devour other mortals, especially the Nepholiph. Typically, Chernfen are far too bloodthirsty to hunt in the conventional sense and will often just turn to cannibalism.
Additional Information
Social Structure
Some 'savage giants' will form a group of no more than a dozen individuals, not out of loneliness or mutual survival, but to cause maximum devastation possible. Most however, prefer a solitary existence and will only seek out other Chernfen for the prospect of scavenging a kill.

Average Intelligence
Most people think Chernfen are dimwitted, perhaps because of their savage nature but in actual fact Chernfen are quite clever. They know how to set up elaborate traps to lure even intelligent prey to their deaths and they learn from their mistakes.
