Darapur Council

Potentially the most powerful organization of the future.

Darapur was once a stopping place between Burim, Soksu, and the nation of Grara. The Great Dam caused it to grow and the construction of the first skyport and becoming the hub of skyships and exploration in this new era have turned it into the most important city on Breharan; and with it, the people who run it into the most powerful people on the continent.

Far From Where It Began

Originally, the Darapur Council was a group of people from among the then small population of the town who gathered when necessary to solve the - usually minor - issues facing the then village. At that time, the council was comprised of people considered to be the most important people - the most well-known - in Darapur and they were not elected or appointed officials just the people accepted by the other members as being relevant.   Over time the organization of the council changed before landing on the current system of elected officials representing different parts of the bustling city. The job is no longer conducted occasionally at a member's home over a meal but hour after hour, cycle after cycle, in a large hall where they make decisions about all aspects of Darapur.

The Exploration Powerhouse

While most nations of Breharan have their own skyships, none have more than Darapur. The Machine Priests produce floatdrives which allow skyships to fly through the air but all of the hulls are built in Darapur giving the council the next-greatest amount of control over their production.   The council approves the use of all skyships owned by Zinato, even those that are held in private hands. Each ship is required to file a flight path - though this may be a requirement demanded by the Machine Priests - or be part of an approved mission of exploration.   Decades of decisions by the council since the flight of the Harani have turned the city into an economic powerhouse, eclipsing the rest of Zinato combined but also supporting many industries through the rest of the region.
