Aragand

Tasiir's overly friendly horse.

"I am always happy to see my brother when he happens to wander our way. The rest of the family though, they seem to prefer the horse."
— Hassuran of the People of the Horse

A Well-Traveled Horse

All up and down the Orthlands Aragand has traveled, the reliable steed of well-known wanderer Tasiir of the People of the Horse. Few people can claim to have braved Yaliru's Throat and even fewer horses but Aragand is among their number.   All these travels have made Tasiir famous among the Orth and the people of Beldan. Aragand has been a beneficiary of this as his friendly demeanor has made him something of a celebrity across the Orthlands as well. It isn't uncommon for Tasiir to return to Aragand only to find that his mane has been braided, occasionally with beads.   While Aragand enjoys the attention he gets while visiting Beldan or the nomadic communities of the Orth, he is truly at home on the land, the winds in his mane. Like his companion who travels with him, at least the way he sees it, Aragand is drawn to wander.

Appearance

Aragand has a brown coat all around though it is a bit lighter just above the nose. His mane is a bit darker but the tips sometimes brighten for an unknown reason. He is sturdy and well-fed but never over-indulgent - at least out on the plains, in towns he may get a few too many extra snacks from passers by.

The Personality

Tasiir is usually a quiet man, speaking more than necessary only when someone piques his interest. Aragand however, is a true horse of the people. He enjoys being around people, even groups of them, and especially enjoys being brushed.   He is known to bump his head into people when he wants something - often simply to be acknowledged - and enjoys responding to people with his own voice, even if all they hear is horse sounds.
Children
Some horses are work horses, others are war horses. Some are free, others are steeds. Just a few, maybe just a few, are called to wander, but just one to wander with me.
