Harengon

Written by Stevey Steve

Harengon are quick, quick witted, quick to trust, quick to become a "drama queen", and quick to get in trouble. These bi-pedal rabbitfolk live across almost every area of Lind in large underground hovels composed of multiple family units called a Harawarren. Harawarren differ slightly from one another with some worshiping Roh, The Green Giant and others worshiping Luter, Life's Guardian. Some relying more on magic, wits, or strength. Some being highly individualistic and others behaving as more of a collective.   In general, some things that most Harengon revere are nature, magic, wonder, and empathy. Though there are particular Harawarren that the majority of Harengon stay away from due to aspects of their particular culture that clash with typical Harengon ideals. Such as the gruff Harawarren, known as the Lionharts, who have pledged and oath of stewardship to Brattali or the Yenear, an aggressive northern Harawarren, who worship Euris . There are others, but this one is most well known due to their roaming nature. However these troublesome Harawarren are an extremely small minority and most Harengon are pleasant to be around. Even though they tend to keep to themselves, they aren't very aggressive and try to help anyone they come across that are in distress.   Harengon personalities can sometimes be a lot for other races to handle since they are normally one extreme to another. They'll be the happiest person you've ever met when things are going well, but during bad times they can become very upset. Thankfully, not much bad happens when you live underground with your family and friends being protected by a confusing maze of tunnels, illusion spells, and the forest above.   Though most Harengon are perfectly happy to stay in their safe Harawarren, other's let wanderlust get the best of them. They will leave their home to become adventures, wandering tradesmen, travel guides, couriers, or any other profession based around exploration and social interaction.

Some Harawarrens are unable to find or facilitate Fallen Fae and have not had an increase in magic users to help shield them against outside forces. Civilization and Culture

Naming Traditions

Harengon typically try to put up a facade of pleasantness, even with their names. Surnames are determined by what ideals their family has traditionally valued such as Humblefoot or Tidytail. First names are given when a Fluffle turns three and is based on their main personality trait such as Joy or Brave.   Unfortunately, some Fluffles may be unwanted due to their "negative" personality traits. They will still be given a virtue based name, but their surname will be changed to Cullen. Harengon were once believed to be going extinct since so few had been seen before. Until a Dwarven architect named, Dosas Stormshaper , discovered a Harawarren. Since then, the Harengon have leaned more towards magic rather than invention and has spread all over Lind.
