Oni Tech use comes at a high cost. Not only from the sacrifice required to bind the Oni to the object, but for the user of the item.   The demon will never be content to simply do the bidding of the user, but will constantly struggle for power over the user's body.
In time the oni will possess the user. The body, now simply a husk, contorts to the shape of the demon.   When the demon is banished, all that remains of the former inhabitant is a pile of ash.

The world of Liminal Chronicles brings in and builds on Japanese mythology and folklore. While this setting does not represent "actual Japan", the author does her best to respect and show her love for the Japanese culture in this "world". Departures from Folklore and Culture describes where the author has chosen to deviate from real world Japan to create Liminal Chronicles.
