Okubo Graveyard
Okubo Graveyard is a small, quiet cemetery tucked right in the middle of Okubo, with entrances on Koryo and Sakura Street. Surrounded by low-rise buildings, it feels like a little oasis of calm amid the city’s hustle. Cherry trees stand tall above the graves, casting gentle shadows that give the place a softly melancholic atmosphere.
Locals often share stories about mysterious spirits that come alive after dark. There’s talk of a Nature Goddess’s shrine that only appears at night, visible to those quietly watching. The graveyard stays completely dark at night, no lights, adding to its eerie, almost magical vibe.
The site is maintained by the local government and is considered neutral ground. Many believe that any wrongdoing here can bring bad luck or restless spirits, so it’s a place where people generally respect silence and peace.
