Hamadryad
Denzins that rule over great cities of Dryads, built atop the tallest trees, hamadryads are naturally crafted rulers of the regular Dryad race.
Of the Green
While dryads are the creation of lesser fey spirits bound into a tree, the hamadryad is born from the union of a dryad and another sapient creature. Appearing to be crafted from leaves, branches and compacted into a flesh and blood form, the hamadryad is grown in a seed pod attached to their Mother Tree. After anywhere between nine months and a year, a hamadryad bursts free from the seed pod. Most of the time, they will step forth fully grown.
The Circle of Nine
The first Hamadryad were born attached to the first and oldest tree in the material plane. Though they live mortal lives, though some would argue several hundred years is already far from mortal, they are reborn one year from when their life spark is extinguished. Once reborn, they can regain their memories from their past lives either through immediate training by fellow members of the nine or through the gradual passage of time. Their aim is to learn all that can be discovered across their multiple lives. Dryads consider hamadryads of the nine to be the closest thing to the presence of an Archfey on the material plane, and are automatically given the right of rule in their fey communities.

Basic Information

Genetics and Reproduction
Hamadryads cannot reproduce, and can only be created between the union of dryads and flesh and blood humanoids. Dryads are not often picky over which ones.
Growth Rate & Stages
A youthful hamadryad will often come free from their seed pod like a child, and grow gradually over two decades.
A full born hamadryad will step forth from their pod fully grown.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Hamadryads can survive on photosynthesis alone, but have been known to eat the same foods of the creatures they live around for purposes of energy.
Biological Cycle
Their hair changes from season to season, though the exact appearance is dependant on the hamadryad.
