House of Pelagoph
The House of Pelagoph is the second eldest and most infamous of the three Houses that comprise the Crown of Corona. In ancient times, the House of Pelagoph was predominantly led by Lord Teiroteus Pelagoph. The House of Pelagoph is now ruled by a small circle of scientists (largely arcanologists) and priests. The most influential of this circle is known as the Arch-Magnician.
History
When the Order of the Knights of Pelagus was dismantled by Lord L’Bael, he created the House of Pelagoph in an effort to curb civil unrest and deemed his son, Teiroteus Urothenes, the ruler and renamed him Teiroteus Pelagoph. With newfound power, the Order of the Knights of Pelagus was reestablished as merely the Knights of Pelagus, as the New Pelagians no longer lived by their original code and instead served as guards. Though the House of Pelagoph acted largely independently, they were still subservient to the House of Urothenes and carried out L’Bael’s demands frequently.
Even in its earliest years, the House of Pelagoph was known for its fixation on aeon shards, believing them to be the key to unparalleled technological power. As the War of Heaven left many aeon shards scattered across Okean, Lord Pelagoph sent the Knights of Pelagus to collect the shards for the House’s research. From this effort came the beginnings of magitech, a fusion of arcanics and engineering. To celebrate this advancement, Lord Pelagoph created the Urothenes Diadem and offered it to Lord Urothenes as a gift.
The House of Pelagoph fell out of the public eye with the death of Lord Pelagoph, who was murdered at the hands of his subjects. Today, the House of Pelagoph has long since ceased the collection of aeon shards and instead aims to optimize the use of Okean’s resources by any means necessary.
