Axel Bourgeois

In 59 BE, during the Divine Renaissance, Bourgeois became the first and only automaton to have a divinity. He neglected to name his, though he called it "a finding-things power." Bourgeois is capable of distinguishing the safest and most direct path to a given target. The only limitation is that he needs either a clear image of said target or the target's name. According to Bourgeois, this power has neither a visual indicator nor a process to activate it; it is akin to a sixth sense that is active at all times.

Early Life

Bourgeois was manufactured in New Orleans, Louisiana on Earth. With the Earth's rapidly changing political climate due to the reintroduction of magic and mythological beings, Bourgeois became part of a wider study to confirm whether "souls" truly existed. He was designed by Alexander Bourgeois, who wished for an assistant that would assist in the preservation of Louisiana's dwindling ecosystems. However, while visiting his family in Manhattan, New York, Alexander would become the unintended victim of the Mors of Manhattan, a vigilante serial killer. His body was laid to rest in his hometown, New Orleans. A day after his funeral, Axel Bourgeois would come to life on his own, bearing the memories and personality of Alexander.
  Though his activation and resulting behavior seemingly confirmed the existence of souls, Bourgeois would struggle with his identity for many years afterward. In 76 BE, Bourgeois boarded a ship and sailed off the east coast of Florida where he went missing for six years. In 70 BE, Bourgeois was discovered by a fisherman in Puerto Rico. With help from several Puerto Ricans, Bourgeois found his way back to Louisiana, where he turned to Catholicism for a sense of structure in his life.

Mythsol's Founding and the War of Mythos

In 67 BE, Bourgeois founded Mythsol (Mythicals in Solidarity), an organization that campaigned for the civil rights of mythicals. Even after the end of the Cross-Testament War in 88 BE, Earth still struggled to adjust to the presence of mythicals among humanity. Bourgeois welcomed mythicals displaced by society and promised them homes and protection so long as they assisted in Mythsol's end goal. In 55 BE, Bourgeois met Dr. Ento Hyiw during a business trip to Colorado, and the two developed a friendship.

In 54 BE, with some convincing from Bourgeois, Dr. Hyiw became the first human to join Mythsol. His acceptance into the organization was met with no small amount of apprehension from Bourgeois' peers, yet it was the catalyst for nationwide attention far exceeding its initial years. In 53 BE, Bourgeois, representing Mythsol, shook hands with Hudson Lombardi, who was at the time the United States' president. In 50 BE, following the beginning of the War of Mythos, humans joined Mythsol in droves to seek shelter.
  In 50 BE, Bourgeois was contacted by Igor Voznesensky, a close friend of Alexander, and a known pillar guardian of Zhizn, Earth's Core Star of Life. It was through Voznesensky that Bourgeois was one of the first to know of Zhizn's absence from its pillar. With this knowledge, Bourgeois sought the help of Dr. Hyiw to create what would later be known as the NWS-Atlas.
