I'm happy to say I'll be joining in on summer camp once again!
My first summer camp was in 2023, so I'm still pretty new to this whole thing! I adored the prompts and themes from last year, and look forward to learning and exploring the themes this year!
WEEK 1: CHANGE
Assignment 1: Ponder the Theme
Change is natural, and cannot be predicted or contained...which makes planning and recording it a tricky thing to do. I will do my best though!!
Overall, change will be for the better on grander and smaller scales. And better doesn't mean more pure, more isolated, more idealogical: I intend it to mean more nuanced and more open to that nuance.
One major change in the works is the disenchantment of mortals/surface dwellers with celestial rule. The attitude shift has been building for some time but will be kicking up a notch. I need to create and document the change makers and the trailblazers, as there will be a good few.
Change is one of the overarching themes and motifs of this world, actually, and is integral to the story. Change IS possible, and greater change is only possible through collaborating and engaging with others.
Assignment 2: Goal Setting
Ok, for July I am working 3 days a week and taking one college class two days a week. So far, that class's workload hasn't been too crazy, but it will be moving towards the end of the semester, and I will presumably be writing and researching for most of that time.
I'm hoping to complete the SILVER badge and complete 16 prompts.
Assignment 3: Get Organized
While I adore categories, I have absolutely no idea how tagging works. This is actually my first tagged article in this world, I believe, and I am unsure how to best utilize the system. If anyone has suggestions PLEASE let me know, I'd love to learn!
Assignment 4: Meet the Meta
I wasn't sure if I even started the Meta for this world, and upon checking, I've typed a grand total of two words. Guess I'll have to work on it then!!
WEEK 2: REFUGE
Assignment 1: Ponder the Theme
The way this is lowkey the entire point of this world...
The whole point of this game is to create a refuge from the polarization of the outside world, one that works on finding solutions to the problems the polarized sides are too busy fighting each other to solve.
Assignment 2: Accountability Buddies
I am fortunate to have so many buddies, and I hope that by keeping them accountable I can keep myself accountable as well. Sadly my boyfriend will not have internet to keep me accountable (if I remember correctly), but my chapter companions in the Seven Tomes will hopefully keep each other accountable.
Assignment 3: Do it with Style
I have become far more familiar with CSS and styling since last year, so I hope to make a style sheet for celestial and fiendish information.
WEEK 3: BELIEF
Assignment 1: Ponder the Theme
Is the World Anvil team in my head??? Do they know this project??? Because with the way these themes continuously line up, it truly feels like it. Belief is a core component of this world, with belief in certain deities or culture's supremacy/right to rule, belief in misinformation without checking for oneself, and the unshakeable belief in a world that can be better than what it is.
Assignment 2: Inspiration Abounds
Oh goodness, where to start. I fear it will be too big to keep here, but I will compile them all in this Inspiration Thrift Store to try to capture the lightning I feel in this moment, the spark of the world I envision and hope to create.
Assignment 3: Visual Inspiration
Ok, part of this will lie in the Inspiration Thrift Store, but I do want to create a rudimentary map of my world to aid in guiding its creation. I will add that here once I am content with it.
