Quolan

A traditionalist culture of the Tarunan, dispersing from the Quol'ren Valley. As physically imposing as any Tarunan, the Quolan take pride in their continued, generations long peace and coexistence amongst nature.

Culture

Common Dress code

While the Quolan do not shy away from most modern clothing options, as a whole they tend to stick to the traditional option of a simple shoulder covering. This tends to be a loose, Quolan-weave, with excess material used to shield the head in hot or wet weather.

Ideals

Gender Ideals

Like much of Tarunan society, the Quolan give the most distinction to family matriarchs. Mothers are believed to be the childs connection to the world itself. Within the group, however, distinct care is given to empower daughters to be leaders and decision makers, regardless of motherhood.   A strong, decisive Tarunan woman is seen as an empowerment to her community, not just her family. Physical fitness, dexterity and intelligence are all seen as positive traits.   For men, however, living amongst the Quolan can be difficult. The same ideals are pushed on to them, but without the benefit of leadership roles or places in the culture. As such many men tend to spend their time on the arts, and the most renowned weavers and carvers of Tarun tend to be men of Quolan descent.

Aw, poor Quolan men. I love that they spend their time on arts and weaving, though.
