Keaya's Comms Desk

The captain held her head in her hands, leaning heavily into the exquisite sophan desktop. Recordings played from the Vis-comm, messages from debtors and old crew mates, all cursing her name. She opened her eyes. Her father's desk was there. Supporting her now just as he had all those years ago...
Originally belonging to Dr. Lorrea Curtai, this Comms Desk is a mainstay of Keaya's private quarters aboard the Voiceless Wind.

Significance

This desk was built from scratch by Keaya's father using salvaged elements from his childhood home after it was demolished. The sophon wood desktop was cut from the remains of the front door, while the Urade Wood base came from the roof joists. The swivel chair is attached by pipes from the electrical housing. The Quolan-weave upholstery that edges the desk and makes up the backrest of the chair came a tapestry that belonged to the Doctors late wife.   The vis-comm was added separately, but was masterfully installed into the desk as a permanent fixture.

It sounds like such a beautiful desk, and I love the history behind it. The quote is great. <3
