Music

Lexiconian music is the traditional with, and spans many genres and styles. It is primarily and predominantly vocal-based, with minimal musical accompaniment, even though it is present.

Execution

There are a few styles of singing within Lexiconian music
Folk Music
Lyrics, which are traditionally orally passed down, cover a wide range of topics, but two of the most common ones are laments for lost battles and wars, and the lives lost in them, are equally prominent in many traditions; these laments keep alive the cause for which the battle was fought and the people who fought it, as well as victory.   Other songs and ballads touch on and tell of mysterious deaths and events, recall epic poetry and folk heroes, lament tragedies or natural disasters, describe nature, tell of deep love and longing and loyalty, and remember the vast unforgiving tundra they called home along with the planet's unusual orbit.   Some pass down and preserve events and memory, as well as information of ritual significance and of ancient and modern history.
Chanting
Chants are one of the oldest and famous singing styles. Traditionally they are sung a capella and are sung slowly with apparent and heavy emotional content. Despite it being usually and traditionally a capella, a limited amount of musical instruments sometimes accompany the chant, although they are always second fiddle to the vocals and only serve to emphasize the vocals.   No chant is the same, vocalists can improvise. Some vocalists improvise every time they sing. Each chant is meant to evoke or reflect a specific event, place, animal, occasion,or person, and quite a few of them are hymns dedicated to Roalas. They can be deeply personal, spiritual, emotional, even otherworldly.
