WorldEmber Prep 2025
Lights, Camera, Focus.
Well hi, If you're reading this you have way more investment in this world than I expected. But hi, if you're a regular....The focus this time around is maintaining standards. While hitting 100ish articles last year was fun, the 97 word article point is really a stain on that amount of sheer effort I put into the month as a whole. Also with the house move I have enough clutter without more.
Also I gained an accountability buddy (Hi Keon :P). We're going 25, as we also showed last year that 50k is great for prose, but articles 25 is a little more sane. Buuuut Bingo. (Insert imagination of that bingo grid)
1. Remind you all the conflicting cornerstones of the project: Australia!!! Solarpunk/Biopunk. Japan. Cosy. Horror. Romance. CONSEQUENCES. A little anarchy and a lot of anti-earth-establishment. Whimsy if I can.
2. Author profile: Pass. If you're going that way I've lost you already
3. Moodboard - made one on pinterest, but not clogging up images just to show you, and don't feel like a doxx so pass :P Needless to say, some focus on the academies of the world might be in order and the fashion connected
4. Homepage: With the custom fields now in master tier I added the three core articles to start with, though I need to css me some font size :P
5. MARCH, BLUE, MARCH
6. Writing space: As per discussions my writing space has a whole ass cd rack sprawled right across it, though it does have a judgemental sheep and a photo of my nephew so....
7. Scope - goes with the moodboard, but I'm going to be trying to stick to things connected to the academia of the multiverse. The Amptheatre of knowledge and the explorers guild are two mandtory articles.
8. Primer - march. There's Levis at a Glance, and hopefully Infernus at a glance can be added to that soon, I might even stylise it in academic rigor language as if in world documents.
9. Buddy? Keon. We will see how long he can stand my rambling, but hiiiii.
10. Feedback: Comment below for one, but I'll ask more questions of my players to be tomorrow. Might update here with the results.
11. Finish all the.... I'm doing novelember and that's 37 articles - not happening.
12. Read a book: Fine, I'll find my 'books to read' box and pop one finished. Probably Ben Aaronovitch's 'The Masquerades of Spring'. Huh. I don't have "Stone and Sky"
13. Free space - something witty, something witty - make a cuppa tea maybe?
14. Visual elements - elements come after with me. As everything is bought, I have to describe it before I article it. Were the universe and impulse control so bad that I bought and then described I would be describing twice.
15. List of stubs: Amptheatre, totally not tamarind, tea component, sky bridges. Visiting dignitries prose article. While there are more stubs, most of them are outside scope.
16. Playlists: Going through my old CDs and shoving them into my cd player. Just found an old Three Days Grace CD. 17. List of articles - who knows honestly, I tried planning SC and ignored most of my goals.
18. Last year was 3.30am before work, with a 45 min drivbe instead of a 15, I lost that 30 mins of hyperactive productivity so its all going to have to be pulling my brain together after work. Joy.
19. Mages are ambitious. Mages seek to promote themselves while filling their cup with a reckless curiosity. I need to remind people of that fact
20. Research - maybe later, might procrastinate
21. Reread - done. They need work and updating to standards, but done
22. ./type hello world. :P
23. Cato worked so hard on the css. Vorp and reason did amazing banners. and all my brilliant artists have helped build this visually into a project I'm so proud of.
24. Went for a kebab today, might steal a walking path tomorrow.
25. Vibrancy, saturation, a dirth of emotion
All in all, see you in December.
I kept this mentality all year so here we go again:

Cozy Cottage Oath:
- I will stop to stoke the fire when it dwindles. Rest when you are tired and for as long as you need.
- I won't force the fire to fit a different stove. Let your plans inspire you, not control you.
- I will follow sparks of joy, not chase dying embers. Write and read what you enjoy, not what's forced.
- My flame is beautiful and undying. Believe in yourself and your ability to create, including when it's a struggle.
- I will tend to all flames under my care. Working toward non-WorldEmber goals adds to your successes.
Thank you for reading, feel free to give feedback.

I'm in with some rambling, after all who are we truly if not rambling mad tale-weavers simply adrift letting our minds run wild when we can find the time, space and energy. Also hi! :) I got your back, we'll keep it cozy and friendly and keep each other accountable!
