Seed dart bracelet.

Not all combat mages go for the blunt force, or the nonlethal variation on the battlefield. For those who need a solid strike and a killing blow, for those that need something to down and STAY down, the seed dart is the answer. Held in a bracelet or series of bracelets on the wrists and ankles, these stiff bands string a 'rope' of seeds. A small heat spell is used to crack the seed casings open before battle, with kinetic force being used to propel the seeds towards an enemy.   The custom comes from the mages of Vertus, who use the bracelets in keeping the hungrier forces of the forest away from the fire-blossoms and community gatherings that the town is most known for.
