Raider Hats

What's a big brim to a demon? Sure aint keeping the sun off them. Over in Infernus, these broad brim hats keep the sand and the dust from their eyes. Usually paired with some form of eye-wear, these hats are for those that are mounted, but as they are a status symbol, foot soldiers and ambush hunters have also picked them up in an attempt to show a rank they do not possess.
They are thing of hide and fury. With a broad semi-stiff brim, and a teardrop shaped crown. Along the inside of the brim is a leather strap, woven with markings and looped with discreet trophies of important kills or moments. Three small circular vents dot the sides to promote airflow, and long slits provide space to push demon ears, horns, or iron spikes out through. These slits are often positioned for the owner, such that no two hat has the same slit configuration. Every edge on the hat is reinforced with treated leather, and the brim of the hat has a subtle upwards curve to it.   Good hats have a burn or a scar on them, or a gouge where some sort of creature has attacked them. Demons will often give their hats parent to child, sewing their parent's horn-holes closed and opening new ones to create a multi-generational wonder.

In Levis

Not many of the mounted troupe made the entire way across the gap into Levis, and those that did often did not stay - once the portals between realms were even remotely cracked, the mounted ones left for wider plains and open space.   But a few of the hats stayed, on soldiers who had picked up the style, and those few that found new mounts to ride around Levis. The hat themselves have bled to odd places - the Troll buccaneers have picked up a love of the look, and the new generation of demons find it is a mark of home a connection to a land they likely will not see.
