Popcurn tree

Growing to up to 20m tall, this tree produces a smooth vibrant green bark and thin thorny needles.

It grows in the plains of middle Levis with massive year round chains of seed pods that hang like chains. Its flowers are a pale white about the size of a Foliad thumb and spring up year round to be ready to pollinate and produce the seed pods, in a journey of mass production over efficiency.

The popcurn seeds are a part of the diet of birds and marsupials and the massive horned bison that roam the plains. But they also can be ground down into a pulp that acts like a flour that makes a form of simple bread.

A common snack in areas where the popcurn tree is found, is the mushroom popcurn chip.

The chip is made by blending the (human safe) sap of the popcurn tree with the boiled and ground seeds of the plant to make a mash. To this minced and cooked mushrooms are added. The mash is then molded into chips and based with vegetable oil, before being fried on a flate plate over a fire blossom. The result is a crisp chip with a soft centre that just melts in your mouth. For added complexity, spices and chilli-like substances could be added, and a creamy vegetable paste is often used as a dip.

The mushroom popcurn chip sounds tasty. :)   I love how you describe the tree. I wish I could see them I real life.
