Mapache, first star at night
The Grasper is the first star awake each early night but not the last asleep before dawn.
During the Quiet years, before the invention of the bioluminescent vines, when the air was filled with the light pollution of so many blue circuit signs, The Grasper was unseeable by the naked eye within range of cities and many of the major towns.
The story of Debron's lantern leader, this relic of a past age faded from the minds of the people in the age of unbridled curiousity.
When starlight returned to the night's sky, so did stories of the Grasper, the little lantern-mouse with the soot brushed eyes.

Lantern-mouse
The lantern-mouse is a creature of fire and urban forest. Often found around bushfires or open flame, the lantern-mouse is a small marsupial with green and brown stripes. In older times, the lanern-mouse would find the space with the candles and make do with the wilds of the forest - but this urban warrior has thrived around the demons, especially the glass forges of Hublesstone.
The lantern carrier of Debron
Not all mythology comes from belief. The story of Debron's lantern carrier is a story made to help the young remember through the act of adding whimsey and tale to their lives. The tale itself goes thus: Debron and Morticia dance the day's sky, and as night falls and Debron goes to bed because he has work in the morning, he sends forth Mapache with soot upon her nose to wake up the worm that light the lanterns, igniting the way home for Morticia as she does one last dance across the night's sky before bed. Mapache then allowed to head to sleep herself.
