Levis Fashion- pt 1 components
This article is a source of some of the more universal concepts in Levis fashion. While special outfits like the Seriphorim and materials like the Goldweave and Greshire are focal enough to need concentration, the following are more universal and stylistic.
The button economy.
Fastenings in Levis are wide and varied. While the most common fastening is the loop and knot, buttons and hooped teeth clasps can also be used. While older people prefer their clothing with uniform styles, the younger generations and counter culture of any age tend towards an eclectic mix of substances and styles in their fastenings. Buttons themselves often are seen as a sign of clothing status; the loop and knot much easier to come by. Seeds are one of the button times often used, often shaped by water and potion and magic, often growing a little into the clothes - the clothes themselves often ending up as mulch for a new planting of a garden in this case. For Witches or those wanting longer lasting clothes, bones can be used as buttons, given homage to the natural end of things. For access to buttons like these, one will often turn to a Bone Turner though expectation of the same type of bones for one outfit is unlikely and often conformity within an outfit will come at a premium. For those willing to get second glances, amber is a good source of buttons, and can be seen in the shining of dried sap. These are often traded in their raw form by gardeners and those with a more tree-like personal garden. Sap-shining is a skill that has been picked up by several within some of the larger communities of Levis and some of the more fashion conscience wanderers.Button-barony
In the more strange corners of Levis is the act of Button-Barony. This is an act of divination where objects that were once used in other parts of Levis are collected in a bag and tossed across a surface to scry the future from how they land upon the surface. It gets its name from the fact that many of these bags are filled with objects once used as buttons. The surface may be unmarred, but often it contains a rudimentary circuit-circle or a ring of witch-runes. One caster of the Button-Barony, is Leij, a seamstress who often traded a bitter seed in exchange for her castings of the buttons. Her work station is often full of the smells of baking, and her outfits almost look like something out of a cooking themed binding.

Fascinating how much one can write about something ordinary as buttons. Lovely little article!
