Bissen-Tel

High collars, panels of curved line pattern on a sea of black. Long, ribbonous shawls designed merely for show.

If you can't handle a dress, I suppose you can try pants, but you will be less glorious.

The main element of this style is the repeating painted patterns, sometimes on bare fabric, but mostly on stitched on, stiffened Greshire panels. On the shawl, the greshire is kept malleable, to continue the flowing lines of the accessory. Bissen-Tel shawls can be up to 2m of flowing fabric, draping around the neck and flowing backwards across the arms and back.
Trimming can also be patterned with the painted greshire, all of these patterns full of bright, vibrant colours. often broken up with non-repeating animal motifs. The pannels can also be seen as breastplates on the outfit, or collars and lapels.
While commonly partnered with black sleeveless ankle-length dresses, white is the other contrast used, with rarely a pale green fabric if the wearer is feeling austentatstous.
This style is an old Quiet Years style and comes from the mural work of (the city bordering the Amphitheatre of Knowledge) and its desire to leave the styles and trappings of the Human years behind. This style encourages flowing lines that represent the future as well as coverage that indicates a more socially 'responsible' behaviour.

Bissen-Mir

If Tel is about coverage, Mir is about exposure. Bared chests or backs, high collars unconnected to outfits with big open necklines. Repeating patterns are still here, broken by animal motifs, but the patterns are much more circular.
Hemlines come northwards, often reaching the knees, and the shawls are abandoned for walking staffs or folded parisols in matching colours.
Bissen-Mir came to promenence during the later Quiet Years, encouraged by the feelings of rebellious nature that sprung up through Solaris in the lead up to Hurricane Sarkotay. Due to the hand made nature of clothing in Levis, styles likr this made social rebellion obvious and 'expensive'.

Author's Notes

A few of my fashion elements are inspired by things, and where the inspiration is less obvious, one should give credit. In this case it is Zhuang Brocade that gives this life. Shoutout to Ayoung Design.
