Granite

Massive. Hard. Tough. Stone brought up from below and cooled thousands of millennium ago. Lots of Levis is untouched by wearing winds or rolling glacial frosts, and so granite laces much of the untouched areas of the continent.   As the stone, granite is largely untouched, merely a platform in which to be grown upon or around. Rubbing form small islands for unique ecosystems to develop different to the scrub and forests surrounding them.   Humans have tried to use Granite during their initial forays into Levis and there are some ancient scars and cracks where they attempted to make their marks, But most granite in Levis was too tough to be attacked by anything short of the rudimentary black-powder of the day and so apart from fragments of stone carved through extreme trial, and the blackpowder scars, the granite was left untouched.   Its new use came with the demons. Natural stone-shapers, their magic loves the Levis granite and their runes have helped the two major demon cities literally grow from the granite tor that they are built upon. While many foliad recoil at the sight of the shaped stone and its implications, trolls as a rule see this as a natural extension of the growth magic used on plants - though they would leave the demons to their own acquired lands and prefer that magic stay over there.
