Djilarag
Like a fish with wings, or a snake with vents, the djilarag is a high speed animal that has been utilised by the people of Levis as a land vehicle. Able to hover at no more than a metre above ground level, and about the size of a full grown Troll, the Djilarag is the long distant cousin of a flying fish.
Unlike many of the vehicles around Levis, this one has had no bioengineering, instead the marvel here is developing the bait that would coax the creatures close enough to be mounted and cared for.
Usually ridden with a simple throw harness and stirrups, and laced with a pair of side packs (usually in greshire), guiding the Djilarag is done by tilting of the body, for any use of a bit and reins would send information too slow for how fast one can move.
The Djilarag has a long slender body covered in fine scales, a narrow red fishtail, and two stubby lizard like front legs. It has no hind legs, instead upon its back is 6 transparent dragonfly like wings, and six thick tubes behind its face with 4 lidded eyes, each a layer of dictating membrane designed for different conditions. It's nose is an ugly drooping thing with a heavy weight on its front made of cartilage to keep it down and its mouth is lipless and filed with hundreds of tiny sharp teeth. It "hears" through a magnetic field it radiates from its body, and it is fully capable of swimming, though it much prefers this mid hover it seems to do.
