Dancer pants

If art is life, then fashion is a thing of particality and magic
— Fern Banksiaday
It started as a way to maximise air/skin contact on the wet afternoons and nights, especially when dancing and singing indoors, when warmth would come from the fire-blossoms, and light from the overhead glowing vines and flowers. But still those of Levis need the suns (either of them) to thrive - and so an ingenious bard took off most of the sides of a pair of strides.   With a vine looped belt, and usually made of semi-transparent to full transparent material, these strides go down the full length of the leg to a tight ankle finish. The fabric of the stride leves most of the hip bare and style works towards making the dancer pants have a deeper and deeper cut towards the knee. The pant ties at the dominant hip in a bow, and care is often taken in their design to not snag or catch on the knee in dance.
The Combat Mages have taken to using these pants, for those not into wearing shorts or skirts. They allow the exposure of more easy access circuit tattoos and at a height that is good for quick 'draw'. They also position themselves in a safe way for quick repaint, though this often means the mage's paints must then be carried in a satchel or bandolier.
