The Orcs: Stewards of the Elements
The Orcs of Levelia are towering figures with skin in earthen tones of green, brown, and red, and boar-like features that give them a fearsome and primal appearance. Known for their deep connection to the elements—earth, fire, water, and air—they once thrived in the fertile central territories of Anzentochi. Their rituals and traditions honored these elements, which they believed granted them strength and guidance. However, their history is marked by displacement, resilience, and an unyielding will to reclaim their heritage.
Before the Cataclysm: Guardians of the Central Lands
Before the Cataclysm, the Orcs were the stewards of Anzentochi's lush central territories. Their clans lived in harmony with the land, drawing upon its elemental energies to cultivate their society. Orc shamans channeled the elements to bless crops, heal their people, and forge powerful weapons. These spiritual leaders held as much sway as the war chieftains, creating a balance of wisdom and strength in Orcish culture.
Orc settlements were vibrant, filled with the sounds of communal feasts, roaring forges, and elemental rituals. Their sacred sites, known as Elemental Circles, were places of profound power where the Orcs communed with the forces of nature. These lands were not just their home but a living part of their identity.
After the Cataclysm: The Displacement and Formation of the Pact
The Cataclysm reshaped the world, and the Orcs’ central lands were claimed by the emerging Kingdom of Melchiora. Driven out by human expansion, they retreated south, leaving behind their sacred Elemental Circles. This loss carved a wound in Orcish identity, and many viewed the humans' actions as a betrayal of nature itself.
Forced into the rugged Southern Wilds, the Orcs forged the Urg’nak Pact, allying with other displaced or marginalized heritages. Their elemental connection allowed them to adapt to the Wilds, transforming the harsh terrain into a sanctuary. Today, Orc shamans still seek to reconnect with the lost Elemental Circles, viewing their reclamation as a spiritual imperative.
