Great Drought

The Great Drought: A Parched Expanse of Resilience

The Great Drought is a vast and unforgiving desert that stretches across the eastern reaches of Anzentochi, marked by endless dunes, scorching sun, and fierce winds that carry the whispers of the past. Once a fertile grassland teeming with life, this arid expanse was reshaped during the Cataclysm, when natural and magical forces drained the land of its vitality. What remains is a barren, sun-baked wasteland that challenges all who dare to traverse it.

Despite its harshness, the Great Drought is far from lifeless. The Katari, agile and resourceful feline humanoids, have made this unforgiving terrain their home. Through ingenuity and sheer will, they thrive in scattered oasis settlements, preserving their traditions while adapting to the desert's demands. The Principality of Balth, located on the southern edge, has forged alliances with the Katari, whose knowledge of the desert is invaluable for trade and survival.

The Great Drought is dotted with ruins of civilizations long lost, remnants of a time before the Cataclysm when the land was green and bountiful. These ruins, combined with the occasional appearance of dungeons, draw adventurers seeking lost treasures and forgotten lore. Yet the Drought remains an unyielding force, a testament to the resilience of those who call it home and a reminder of the Cataclysm’s enduring legacy.
