Unification Day

Unification Day is an important holiday in the Empire of Pallernen that commemorates the anniversary of Tiyla the Blessed's coronation on the 1st Tielaqteril, 1062 AA and the unification of the Kingdom of Motilich, Latolia, and the Kingdom of the Hartilians under her leadership. The special day attracts thousands of people from across Pallernen every year to Aûrkustel, the nation's capital. Many of the important events there take place around the Hall of Unity, such as the monarch's speech to the people and their reaffirmation of their oath to uphold the nation's values while embracing the flag of the empire.   The holiday is also closely associated with various harvest festivals that occur in rural communities and smaller towns, bringing everyone together to celebrate the hard work and effort that they’ve put into agricultural work, contributing to the production of food for both their families and the realm as a whole. Working on Unification Day is generally frowned upon, unless the work in question is essential and unavoidable.
