New Hope

    New Hope was a settlement founded by the first human settlers who landed on the planet of Riel on September 19, 2309 (6593 BA), following their long voyage across the stars from Earth. Located in what is now the Federal State of Alinhas, the town became the heart and capital of the Unity of Riel, a state that represented and controlled all of mankind on the new world, providing cohesion and unity in a land fraught with new and unknown challenges. Unfortunately for both the state and the settlement, New Hope eventually fell to the aberati after internal revolts brought on by the government’s strict measures and restrictions on individual rights left the humans in disarray.   Despite its repeated destruction at the hands of the enemy, mankind refused to abandon the location completely, constantly striving to reclaim the location and to reestablish the settlement. Thousands of years after mankind first established their presence on the planet, the town would once again face the threat of a great aberati horde during the height of the Invasion when the city miraculously defended off several waves of the ravaging forces that sought its destruction. It was during that dark period of history that the settlement became known by its contemporary name, Last Hope.
