The records might claim that Gehel's Keep was under the strict hand of Elîvihel II, but the true ruler was clearly his daughter. Gehellûn would not exist if it weren't for her diligence.— History of the Minor Houses, Vol. III
Einilla Gehel was the diligent and charismatic youngest daughter of
Elîvihel II, the
Lord of
Gehel Keep, who had to regularly serve her father by acting as his regent while the lord was away on various military campaigns. Her invaluable contributions to the family continued during the reign of her brother,
Âldbreh, but following his death in battle Einilla was finally relieved of her duties and left to her own passions. Most of the prosperity and development of her father's reign are attributed to Einilla's personal efforts, especially the growth of
Gehellûn, a small town that grew around her family's holding.
Retiring as Regent
Hânsil Gehel, the new Lord of Gehel Keep following Âldbreh's death, ascended to the position when Einilla was around 41 years old, retiring the old regent and taking on the burdens of responsibility for himself. The retired regent was conflicted about the change as she had grown accustomed to the day-to-day activities involved in running the keep and its surrounding lands, but as a married woman with children of her own she refocused her efforts on her immediate family and found peace in seeing the seeds she had sown blossom into the town of Gehellûn, a settlement that her children could call home.
