Zakridos was conquered by Kratiros about 50 years after the end of the Third Century Incursions in order to secure the remaining length of the Neraithou River and a better connection between the territories that had become part of the empire as a result of the settlement of the Neraithou Province over the previous 30 years.
Territories
The territory of Zakridos lay to the south-east of the Diachoros Mountains, stretching along both banks of the Neraithou River from about 25 miles upriver of the confluence with the River Myr all the way to the confluence with the Ormiskos River.
