Aetatis Principalia

[Aye-ta-tis Pryn-ch-ee-pal-e-ya]

Definition:
1.) Abbreviated version of Elementa Recentioris Aetatis Principalia, or the modern Age; abbreviated as A.P. for common use. The present Age is always Aetatis Principalia thus allowing it to be accurately named once a new Age has begun.

Example usage:
1.) "It is beyond me how time functioned before the Timesmiths used Disciplina concepts to properly sort out the Ages. Using the Aetatis Principalia naming convention is the only sensible way about it!"
2.) The current calendar mark is Wyndbrel 8, Harvest 1878 A.P.

Origin:

Before the An-Tirian Timesmith mages, timekeeping was flawed and chaotic at best, making poor historical records as the calendar mark notation was inconsistent. There were many Chroniclers even within the San-Salla Archives who simply devised their own systems as they transcribed. Piecing history back together was less having solid records but more a guessing game to piece places, people, events, and cultures together based on things as frivolous as fashion or other painfully short lived trends.

The Timesmiths formed because they found this form of slipshod record keeping to be despicable. Based on what they believed to be a solid approach to classifying the the world, the Disciplina method, It took only a scant few harvests for the scholarly wizards to fully realize how difficult of a task they had chosen to undertake. Mapping the Mooncrest sky was a significant task, made all the more difficult by the chaotic constellation representing Kressen. That has been a thorn in the Timesmith's side and still remains, often dealt with using no small amount of swearing. Yet without their efforts Lennadorian history would have no hope to be pieced back together and time itself would still be uncontrolled.
