Warrior Ceremony
This ceremony signifies a warrior's ascension from a trainee to a full warrior, held after they complete their training and before they embark upon their first solo mission. Typically, it is held once a year so that all trainees can graduate together, which makes it easier to organize. On occasion, an outlying warrior will have a smaller ceremony held for their transition, usually held simultaneously with another ceremony. This is a major occasion for any young warrior, as they now have all the authority of their senior counterparts, and can now begin to take on solo missions and commands.
History
Began in Year 12, after the first batch of young warriors completed their training. Originally a rough ceremony held outside on the training grounds, it evolved to become a grand event each year, and moved inside to the Great Hall of the palace, as the time shifted to late winter. As the number of trainees grew, it became necessary to shorten the time each warrior was given on the dais, until only those marked for command positions received any sort of special treatment.
Execution
The year's class of graduating trainees are dressed in formal uniform and assembled in the Great Hall, along with their families and many of the senior warriors and nobles. The queen and the High Commander stand at the front of the room and call each warrior up one by one, announcing their name, first assignment, and who they will serve under. The trainee recites the warrior oath, and then returns to their place as the next person is called up.
Components and tools
A ceremonial sword is needed for those warriors taking command positions. Otherwise, no tools are required.
Participants
The queen and High Commander conduct the ceremony. The entire Council is typically in attendance, along with many other minor nobles. The most senior warriors are all present, along with many members of the guard. Every trainee warrior who has completed their training is required to attend.
Observance
Typically observed in early January every year, though can change if other major events are taking place around that time.
