Seven Circles, Ranks or Orders

Seven Circles (officially) or Ranks (military) or Orders (esoteric organizations or an informal designation) are the generalized progression of virtually all professions. Orders are typically used to denote the esoteric professions requiring more extensive education, restricted access, and/or experience: Arbiters, Navigators, Medical and similar professions (these typically require Advanced Knowledge to enter). A person may be identified by their actual profession or their attained degree, as attainment of degree typically requires licensure in that field in the Federacy.   In general, the first two ranks/circles are considered the lowest, or entry level circles or ranks. Ranks 3 through 5 are considered professional level rank with Rank 4 denoting Expert. Ranks 6 and 7 typically denote Masters and Renowned Masters in the field; such people will be known on sight by others in the same field.    It's important to note that Circles are always noted on one's IDCwear, and that Ranks of 4 or higher or are also automatically noted, provided such information is in the Federacy Identification System.   For PCs, their effective rank will usually be within one of the most applicable skill with +1 given for a reflecting aspect or stunt. However, Ranks 6 and 7 typically require testing and approval of the supporting bodies.
