Planetary Defense Authority
Federacy planets have a Planetary Defense Authority for overseeing the defensive and peacekeeping needs of the planet. They vary in size according to the populace and the defensive needs of the planet. Traditionally, their Triume has a Sheriff who oversees Peacekeeping (police and investigation) affairs, a Commander over the military assets (especially space capable), and a specialist whose qualifications depend on the needs of the settlement.
