Refinements
Empowered (+4)
Increase the number of beats your target loses and that you gain by 1. Once your target loses all beats from their turn, they cannot lose anymore, regardless of how empowered your art is. You cannot gain more beats than the amount of beats your target loses.
Extended (+2)
Your art's duration is increased to a number of rounds equal to your casting modifier. For the duration of your art, your target loses 1 beat on their turn while you gain 1 beat on your turn. The target now gets to make either Wisdom or Charisma save to reduce the duration to 1 round.
