Power Components
Power components can be used when performing a mystic art as a mystical ingredient that is consumed by the art. Each component has one or more affinities. In order for a spell to use a power component, its school or descriptor must match at least one of the component's affinity.
Power components can be use to augment mystic arts. Only one augmentation may be used for each casting. If the power component's value is less than the augmentation's cost, you can use multiple components with same affinity to reach the required cost.
Increase Tier Level: You can increase your effective tier for your art. Each tier increase requires power components worth 100 gp plus an additional 100 gp per realm the art is performed at.
Increasing Art DC: You can increase your art's DC. Each DC increase by 1 requires power components worth 300 gp plus an additional 300 gp per realm the art is performed at.
Increase Refinement Capacity: You can your art's refinement capacity without raising its realm. Each +1 refinement capacity requires power components worth 1,000 gp plus an additional 1,000 gp per realm the art is performed at.
Power components can also be used in the crafting of magical objects and alchemical items if the component's affinity matches that of any spell used in the item's creation or the alchemical item's affinity. The power component value offsets the item's creation cost. The value of alchemical items can be increased with augmented alchemy crafting (see Craft (alchemy)).
