Naga Kingdom
The Naga kingdom is an underwater kingdom located in Manipur, India. The kingdom is under Loktak lake , the biggest freshwater lake in India. As the rulers of the waterways, the Nagas rule under Loktak.
The Naga kingdom is small, with only about 100,000 Nagas and Nagis living there. The Kingdom doesn't appear on any map, but Loktak is visible on non-magical maps of India, and underneath it lies the Naga world. The buildings are preserved under a magical dome that keeps the water out.
Magic is used to light up the gloom of the sea. Lights are usually found shimmering in every window. The architectural styles include modern buildings of high spires that rose into the water, reaching for the sky above, while the royal palace follows the ancient Indian architectural style, with vast castles of stone.
According to Korou Sai, Crown Prince of the Naga Kingdom, the kingdom is so beautiful that 'photos do not do it justice'.
Blinking, Mal followed the royal siblings inside the glass elevator. Whatever else she had expected, her visit to the Naga kingdom was turning out to be anticlimactic. And then the doors swished closed, and Mal felt her stomach drop as the elevator descended. A minute after they had started their journey, she gaped as she saw the blue of water through the glass. And still, the elevator descended. Mal clutched her ears, pressure building, the deeper they descended underwater. She turned to see that Nik was also looking around, wide-eyed. The further they descended, the more she started to see—slowly, Mal could make out shapes in the distance—high spires that rose into the water, reaching for the sky above, vast castles of stone that spread out until the murky water hid them from sight, all hidden under a large, magical bubble. The elevator drew to a halt, and the doors opened with a soft chime. “Welcome to the Naga Kingdom,” Korou said, giving Mal a small smile.Tenacious, Legend Valley Academy, Book 2
"We aren’t as medieval as you seem to think. My father is the King, but he spends most of his workday above ground, with the humans. The rest of us handle the proper running of the Kingdom. Some of us use our magic to maintain the lake and the river that feeds it. It takes a lot of effort, both magical and mundane. Others work in the human world above us, as engineers and artists and even as models. For the most part, though, we keep to ourselves. Though I don’t like it, my family and our traditional palaces are a big tourist draw. It helps the economy, so we’ve made our peace with it. We get gawkers from all over the magical world."Korou Sai, Prince of the Naga Kingdom (Tenacious, Legend Valley Academy, Book 2)
