Amat Volkenglass
Amat Volkenglass was the 11th High Archon of Ras Amur taking power in 1104 AK following the death of her aunt, High Archon Basileia Albarach. The daughter of Kallistea Volkenglass, she was born and raised in Aldernord whilst her mother was the Emissary of Ras Amur to the royal court. Her father is unknown, though is speculated to have been a member of the Alderni nobility.
Following the assassination of High Archon Xerxes Harnalla by members of the Rethis Sect, Amat was taken in by the di Gratiano family of Cameri whilst her mother returned. Records unearthed by the Gilded Tower suggest that the Gilded Tower warned Kallistea of the likelihood of a plot against her should she return to Ras Amur, but that this was disregarded, and she too was killed by members of the Rethis Sect on her return.
Amat is believed to have resided with the di Gratiano family for several years before eventually returning to Ras Amur. Following the death of Basileia Albarach it is thought that the oft-secretive nation of Ras Amur experienced a succession crisis, but that Amat was eventually elected by an ad-hoc meeting of the Aeropagus, which had been formally dissolved by Basileia Albarach. She is said to have reinstated the Aeropagus, albeit with vastly reduced powers, and ruled Ras Amur as a dictator until 1178 AK, at the age of 106.
Levity of the Gilded Tower remarked in an intelligence report that the commonly given date of Amat's death was only presumed, and that "one never knows with the Amurim"; if Amat indeed continues to exist in some capacity or another, it is not common knowledge.
