Marshall Militarum
Being a Marshall Militarum Goriae grants the following beneft
2 Political Influence "Astra Militarum (Sector)
and the following rule:
Emergency Tithing:
Every planet of the Sub-Sector is asked to elevate an emergency Tithe to face the threat. 1 Private Army will be created per visible world on the sub-sector map (at the GM's discretion), with the Conscripted level (CS20) and 1 additionnal upgrade depending on the nature of its area. The Emergency tithing maybe be done many time, but only ends when the war is considered over (at the GM's discretion). For the duration of the Emergency tithing, the Marshall Militarum loses 1D5 influence each downtime to represent the loss of popularity, the questionning of his tactical ability and such.
A Marshall Militarum is an officer under the purview of the Lord General Militarum from a sub-sector. In the Gorian Protectorate, most sub-sector where it is deemed necessary has the Office of a Marshall Militarum, which then take the name of the Sub-Sector.
For example, after the crowning of Lord Sector Goriae Alexel Septimus Gorich, Lord General Militarum Goriae nominated as Marshall Militarum Surepar the planetary Governor Ruan Partheo as overall commander of the Imperial Guard and PDF forces of the Surepar Sub-Sector.
Appointment
The Marshall Militarum is appointed by the Lord General Militarum of his sector.
Duties
Coordinate the ground military forces of the Sub-Sector to uphold the Imperium's sovereignty over its worlds.
Responsibilities
Coordination of available military forces, ordering the emergeny tithing of the Sub-Sector in coordination with Administratum Officials, liaison with the Navis Imperialis forces and other civilian assets for transport and support of his military forces, determining his extra-regimentary chain of command.
Benefits
The posting of Marshall Militarum of a sub-sector is of course a task with a lot of financial benefits as a salary, but nothing that would be really interesting for an individual of such status. However, such overall control and authority is not something to be trifled with and many political peers will often recognise the seniority of such a rank.
Accoutrements & Equipment
The Marshall Militarum wears a uniform of his choice from his original military formation. However, he has to wear a scarlet sash from his shoulder to his hip with an Aquila embroidered in golden thread and a badge of the Astra Militarum with his rank indicated in it.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
Any member of the Officio Praefectus with good enough reason may execute or detain a Marshall Militarum during active duty while the political rank can be bestowed and taken away by either the Lord General Militarum or the Lord Sector when it is an occupation posting.
