Monastery of San Raffaele
Built on an elevated rock near the Tucino river, the Monastery of San Raffaele looms over the small valley in a serene way. The massive stone walls, with narrow windows, are surrounded by decorated pillars that support the dome-like roof, giving the building a caged look.
The huge ironclad wooden doors are solid and old, and heavy as stone. Inside, a short hall leads to the inner sanctuum, an open space lined with benches and trees. Various doors give entrance to the monks' quarters. An open circle in the dome brings light to the most prominent feature: The fountain of San Raffaele. In the round bassin stands a 15ft tall statue of the saint, its hands spreads next to its hips as if lifting the 2 stone leaves at his feet up by magical force.

Purpose / Function
According to scripts of the monks, the monastery is built on a spot in time where the boundary with other planes is thinnest. On this sacred ground the monks meditate to open their minds and become one with the universe.
Alterations
Though the building or it's inhabitants have not changed, the surroundings of the monastery have. A relatively new harbor outpost is built in the valley by the dwarfs of Tur-Inan.
History
Little is known about the past of the secluded monks in their monastery. Largely ignored by the rest of the world, the building simply has always been there.
