Etappe 4a: Bring out your dead
Before leaving Monferrato the party is approached by governor Sarimellus Tetropanus. He expresses his gratefulness and offers them the option to stay at his castle whenever they are in town. Furthermore he regrets that he cannot offer a boat trip to Tur-Inan due to the fact that the harbor is blocked by a ship that is sunk by the rebels.
Shortly after leaving the town the coach enters a fog. 10 Minutes into the fog the party finds the road blocked by a few zombies. While dispatching those, more and more appear. Fearing to be overrun, they retreat to the coach and force their way through the gathering crowd. Unfortunately, the 3 horses taken from the robbers flee the scene in terror when dismounted and unattended. When out of harms way, the PCs decide to go back in an attempt to clear the road stealthily.
The coach and non-adventurers are left to wait for the PCs.
Followed at a short distance by his less stealthy companions, Raogda discovers a large group of zombies at the road. He attracts a few by shooting at them. After leading those out of range the party dispatches them easily.
Considdering however that this may take too long, the party decides to venture forth.
With not enough room inside the coach, Raogda and Dorfur settle on the roof for the remainder of today's journey. Though the fog clears after a short distance, the weather stays wet and rainy. Hendrik is a bit suspicious about the fact that there is fog and rain at the same time, but the party takes no further notice.
The rapidly deteriorating road roughly follows the river, deviating from it occasionally to bypass rough terrain. Patches of pinewood and distant rock formations hint that the party is getting closer to the mountains.
A sudden shout from Raogda stops the coach. The others get out quickly to check. In the false light of dusk Dorfur is pulled off the coach by threads spun over the road. The poor dwarf hangs entangled on the ground 20ft behind the coach. Raogda jumps to his aid but finds himself confronted by 2 giant spiders that intend to devour Dorfur who is trying to free himself. An even larger spider appears, but the group is ready for them. The poisonous fangs are ineffective against armor and dwarfvenskin so the spiders are taken out without sustaining too much damage.
On the quickly darkening road it is now time to find shelter for the night.
