The War of Flesh and Scales

The War of Flesh and Scales was the biggest war Latani had ever seen since the end of the Age of Faith. It was an eight year conflict that began after the Great Banishment brought the humans of dark magic to Latani from the neighboring world of Seroma. Their sudden arrival within great pillars of light and the accounts of their powerful spells of dark magic eventually reached the ear of Lord Ledoux, a massive and powerful dragon who was a surviving demigod of Sheeran, who held a tyrannical rule over the lands of Latani. Ledoux saw this invasive race who wielded powerful magic as a threat to his rule and decided to have them eradicated. Ledoux's control over the wild species of dragons allowed him to send them in coordinated attacks against the humans. The Swarmers, Skol and Raptors were more than happy to join their lord in waging war against the humans who were already struggling to adjust to their situation, but other races were apprehensive to fight but felt it was necessary in order to avoid Ledoux's wrath.   During this time the previous ruler of Latani, the demigod Torren, saw the potential of the humans and seized the opportunity to create a full scale rebellion against Ledoux. Torren brought the rest of Latani's leaders together and fought back against the forces of Ledoux where they could. The dark magic of the humans shocked the people of Latani with their power, but their numbers were slowly being killed off by the unfamiliar forces of the world. Ledoux himself rarely ever participated in battles, merely sending his dragon minions or letting his forces to do as they pleased, though the demigod of chaos Krimson soon became Ledoux's right hand man for his love of authority, destruction and battle. The war went on to lay waste to the entire continent, crippling the populations of all who were involved and left millions dead.   The War of Flesh and Scales lasted for eight years, with battles occurring in various regions of varying sizes with no other objective other than destroying the other side enough in an attempt to kill the other side's leader. Ledoux did not join the battle until the forces of Torren were able to finally fought their way to the Ruined Rockies where Ledoux's throne sat in the mountains. The final battle of the War of Flesh and Scales ended during the siege of Ledoux's throne, where Torren, the prince brothers of the humans, and King Kaloss with his Harpies focused their attacks on Ledoux's wings while he was flying, where he then plummeted to his death upon the peaks of the Ruined Rockies. After the war, Torren established the Third Reform of Latani and reascended once again as proper king of the continent.
